    Thats Carl Alberg, not Charles Alberg. And not many small sail boats are sea-worthy enough to go around Cape Horn, something the Alberg 30 did in exemplary fashion.

      Not sure how I glossed over that mistake!! Thanks for pointing it out – fixed.

      Yves Alberg 30 did indeed make it around Cape Horn quite nicely. Though he lost his mast in some rough weather off the Chatham Islands. And it should be noted that he was not running a factory mast. He had mounted an oversized mast with double spreaders and beefed up rigging. If I recall correctly it was a chainplate that gave way and left him stranded.
